This site is built so that we do not know who you are either. Below is exactly what is kept and what is not. Anything not listed here is not kept.
What we never store
There is no column in the database for your IP address, your browser fingerprint, a session id, a name or a phone number. These are not left blank, they do not exist. A column that does not exist cannot be handed over under legal process and cannot be quietly repurposed by a future maintainer.
Your email, if you give one
Email is optional. If you provide one it is kept in two one-way forms: a hash that lets you claim your own report later but cannot be turned back into a list of addresses, and a sealed form whose key is held outside the database. A stolen copy of the database reveals nobody.
Photographs and documents
Every image is decoded and re-encoded, which strips camera metadata and GPS coordinates. That is a safety requirement, not housekeeping: the coordinates in a phone photograph are enough to identify the person who took it. Author metadata cannot be stripped from a PDF, so PDFs are not published until a human has looked at them.
Abuse prevention
To stop flooding, the connecting address is turned into a digest under a key that rotates every day. The raw address is never written down, and because yesterday’s key is gone, an old record cannot be traced back to anyone.
Cookies and tracking
No advertising, no third-party trackers, no analytics scripts. Your language choice lives in the address bar, not in a cookie.
Where the data sits
Data is stored in Europe, outside Bangladesh. That is deliberate: it is materially harder to reach through legal process from Dhaka.
No names are published
Published reports name a role and an office, never a person. Anyone can flag a report that names an individual or shows a face, and enough flags pull it out of public view automatically.
What you control
If you give no email there is no way to connect a report to you at all. If you do, your report number lets you find it again. To have something removed, write to the address below with the report number.

If this text changes, the date above changes with it. Anything significant will also be announced on the home page.
